Founded in 2023, IBest Wines is sparking a wine renaissance, changing the way the wine industry looks, feels, talks, and tastes, offering a portfolio of fine wines perfect for the modern-day wine drinker who desires new, dynamic, diverse, and global wine brands from underrepresented regions in the world. IBest Wines currently offers consumers an opportunity to experience fine wines from Stellenbosch, a world-renowned wine region in South Africa.
Ingrid Best, Founder, CEO, Wine Négociant of IBest Wines and art collector, possesses a unique ability to blend wine, art, and culture like no one else.
As founder of the award-winning IBest Wines, launched in the US in October 2023 and South Africa in February 2024, Ingrid is revolutionizing the wine industry. The brand was selected for American Airlines' FLAGSHIP® FIRST – INTERNATIONAL WINE PROGRAM in April 2025 and has won numerous prestigious awards, including Gold medals from the New York International Wine Competition and Stellenbosch Producer of the Year. Ingrid and her team—all Black women holding equity—are changing how the wine industry looks, feels, talks, and tastes with their exceptional South African blends.
Through her global travels, especially to South Africa, Ingrid became an avid art collector of African and African Diaspora artists including Derrick Adams, Nelson Makamo, Cristina Martinez, Harmonia Rosales, and Bisa Butler. Her dedication to the arts is exemplified through collecting, donating, and lending artworks to prestigious institutions including the National Portrait Gallery and Spelman College Museum of Fine Art.
Prior to founding IBest Wines, Ingrid had a successful 20-year career in the wine & spirits industry working for industry leaders including Diageo, Moët Hennessy and Bacardi. Her career is marked by consistent advocacy for Black and Brown women to hold positions at every level of business.
